This Earth Day, NTA and its strategic partner, Sustainable Travel International, want to remind you to "Keep it Green."
As travel professionals, we all have a responsibility to the planet to protect it for future generations of travelers. Here are a few tools to help you, as well as thoughts to keep in mind related to the impact that our everyday actions have on the environment.
- The travel industry, and tour operators in particular, are in a unique position to inspire people to explore and care about the planet. If travelers gain an appreciation for what’s here, then they’re more likely to do everything they can to protect it.
- Let your clients know you care. You can use the cool graphic at the bottom of this e-mail on your e-mail communications too. Download it here.
- NTA proudly endorses STI's Sustainable Tourism Eco-certification Program and NTA members receive a discount on obtaining their eco-certification as well as on other STI programs and services.
- Remember that small changes add up to big results. Progressive travel businesses and destinations are ramping up their sustainable initiatives despite the economic climate because they realize that sustainable tourism is the future of our industry.
- And don't forget, if you sign up for the 2009 NTA Convention in Reno the day registration opens, May 19, NTA will donate $1 to the Arbor Day Foundation's National Forest Replanting project, which plants a tree for every dollar donated.
