Convention Overview
The NTA Annual Convention is the one-stop shop for doing business in the packaged travel industry. The five-day event offers a mix of business appointments, professional development and networking events. The all-inclusive registration fee gives each delegate access to all aspects of Convention. A mix of buyers (tour operators) and sellers (tour suppliers and DMOs) come together to package product, stay abreast of industry trends and strengthen business relationships.
The Tour & Travel Exchange, the hub of the NTA Convention, is the formal name for the business component. The seller delegates walk the Convention floor to travel to their appointments, which are held at the tour operator's table or booth. Each business appointment is typically seven minutes long. Business appointments take place during four days of Convention week.
NTA also takes the selling opportunities a step further with the Buyer-to-Buyer Exchange and the Destination Pavilion. The Buyer-to-Buyer Exchange takes the same seven-minute appointment format offering operators appointments with each other. The Buyer-to-Buyer Exchange takes place on the first morning of Convention.
The Destination Pavilion provides destinations and their supplier partners an area in which they can promote their product the entire week. Arranged regionally, the Destination Pavilion gives operators the chance to shop for new product ideas throughout the week. However, NTA does set aside time specifically for the operators to shop the pavilion during the afternoon of the first day of Convention.
Finally, a variety of social functions - from the wine and cheese reception to the formal Final Night Gala - and educational sessions provide delegates the chance to further their education, make more business contacts, and just relax and unwind after a long day of business.
