2007/2008 Net Rate Guidelines
Take advantage of Carnival Cruise Line's Net Rate Program for NTA tour operator members. Net Rates are provided to NTA tour operators who are willing to package Carnival Cruise Line Net Rates with one or more the following:
- hotel stay (multiple night)
- transportation (airfare, long-distance motorcoach, train, etc.). If motorcoach and no hotel stay, then other attraction items must be packaged together with the motorcoach transportation.
A Net Rate cannot be sold or advertised on its own. It must always be packaged or sold as an exchange piece, where additional charges are included in the price. NTA members who qualify for Net Rates are provided with a contract and a special fare code to access those rates. Marketing plans and Net Rate requests submitted by NTA members will be given special considerations throughout Carnival's Net Rate request and approval process.
The Net Rate is the price of the cruise (net of travel agent commission, calculated at 15%) and inclusive of non-commission fares. Carnival will provide the rates for a ship, classified into 3 or 4 date ranges, reflecting different prices.
There are a few departure dates that may be higher or lower than the Net Rate provided (due to revenue management of a particular sailing or the need to place it in one of 3 or 4 time frames/dates) - these should be the exception, not the rule.
Net Rates are updated as required (typically on a quarterly basis) to keep pace with revenue management, price change, and fleet deployment.
How do I request the Net Rate Program?
Complete and submit the NTA Net Rates Request form and submit the form to Lori Cassidy via fax, 305.406.6406. Your request will be processed and you will receive acknowledgement of the status of requests within four business days. Carnival will send a confirmation within 5 business days if/when the tour operator's marketing plan and Net Rate request are approved for net rates.

Yes. 3rd and 4th guest rates are available and are net of all applicable discounts and commission.
What category staterooms are provided in the Net Rate program?
Interior 4A, Oceanview 6A, and Balcony 8A (on select sailings). It is possible to upgrade a stateroom to a higher category using the Net Rate program. The specific cost per upgrade is available in the contract.
Can I use the Net Rates for a 2 for 1 certificate program?
No. This type of certificate program can only be implemented using the brochure rate.
