How long does it take my membership to be processed?
Tour supplier and DMO applications are general processed in two business days.
How will I know when my membership is active?
As soon as your membership is activated, you will receive an e-mail advising that your application is now complete, with directions on how to access the members-only section of the NTA Web site.
When will I receive my Membership Directory?
Your membership directory will be mailed 2-4 weeks after you join along with a packet of information about the association.
When will I be listed in the membership directory?
The Membership Directory goes into production in mid-February, with the finished publication delivered in June. If you have missed the current year's directory, no need for concern, your company will be immediately added to the dynamic searchable online directory.
Once I become a member, what are my first steps at maximizing my investment?
The first thing you should do upon receiving your login credentials is check out your company profile and update your company description and property listings. This is the information that tour operators will see when they are researching new product.
When does Travel Exchange registration open?
Travel Exchange registration opened April 10 and the convention will be held Jan. 20-24, 2013. Early registration is essential for tour suppliers and destinations who want to confirm one of the limited number of openings for pre-scheduled appointments.
When can I expect to be billed again for the next membership year?
NTA's dues cycle runs in conjunction with the calendar year. You'll receive your renewal notice in December and your membership will need to be renewed by the end of January.
How do I let tour operators know about my company once I've joined NTA?
Your company will be added to NTA's online membership directory as soon as you join and you will be included in a new member listing in an upcoming Courier magazine. NTA also gives members access to tools to help you market yourself, such as being able to download listings of tour operator members for your own direct marketing. With a little research in the online directory, you can narrow down a qualified lead list of tour operators and send a brief introductory e-mail or simple letter/direct mail piece. However, to conserve your resources and as a courtesy to tour operators, please refrain from sending full brochures or sales kits to all tour operator members unless the materials are specifically requested.

How long does it take my membership to be processed?
Tour operator applications take approximately three weeks to be fully processed. This is due to the 14 day full member review period in which your information is posted online for comment by the members, then followed up with submission to the Board of Directors for approval.

What is the tour operator rebate program?
The tour operator rebate program is an incentive program offered to you for participating in the Supplier Exchange appointments during Travel Exchange. By taking appointments and meeting other eligibility requirements, your company can receive up to US$650 to help offset your travel and lodging expenses related to attending the convention.

Why does NTA require me to submit a certificate of insurance?
One of the core values of the association is to be able to stand behind the credibility of its members. Affiliating with an association of such high standards is likely one of the reasons you chose to become a member. In light of maintaining these high standards, the association has developed a listing of membership requirements that all members are required to uphold. One of the requirements for tour operators is to maintain a minimum level of insurance.
