Below are descriptions of the sightseeing tour options brought to you by the Seville Tourism Board, Andalusian Tourism Board, PRODETUR-Provincial Tourism Board of Seville and TOURSPAIN-Spanish Tourism Office of Chicago. ARAB BATHS: AIRE DE SEVILLA
Relax and enjoy the waters of these unique Arab Baths in Seville's Jewish Quarter. A soothing tour through three different rooms with baths of different temperatures: a warm water bath at 36 degrees Celsius/98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (tepidarium), a hot water bath at 40 degrees Celsius/104 degrees Fahrenheit (caldarium), and finally a cold water bath (frigidarium) at 16 degrees Celsius/60.8 degrees Fahrenheit. These changes of temperature offer unique sensations. The bath continues in an authentic Hamman, in a Salt Bath, in a Thousand Streams Bath, in an Essences Bath or in a Relaxation Room. The water is always clean and in continuous renewal as are the changing rooms and massage rooms of this elegant and intimate palace-house. It is recommended to bring a bathing suit with you to the Baths.
COOKING CLASS: TABERNA DEL ALABARDERO
Seville, the tapas capital of Spain, where eating and drinking are taken very seriously and form a part of daily social life, is the location to learn all about Spanish cooking.
In this hand-on activity, participants learn about the cuisine of Andalusia, its basic ingredients and the use of olive oil, and prepare several dishes that they enjoy tasting once they are done.
THE FINE ARTS MUSEUM
The Fine Arts Museum is the second-most important painting gallery in Spain after the Prado Museum. The building is a former Mercy convent renewed in the 17th century. The 15 exhibition rooms show a comprehensive picture of Sevillian art from the Gothic period to the early trends of the 20th century. The museum's impressive collection of Spanish art extends from the medieval to the modern, focusing on the work of Seville School artists such as Francisco de Zurbarán, Juan de Valdés Leal and Bartolomé Esteban Murillo.
FLAMENCO LESSONS AND MUSEUM
Flamenco is an ancient and profound art through which the people of Southern Spain have expressed their deepest sentiments for several centuries. Flamenco is alive today and developing, though in a different way from the past. This activity offers participants the chance to learn about flamenco's history and to have fun practicing the basic rules of this art.
GUIDED INTRODUCTION TO SHOPPING
Seville is a city known for its excellent shopping. Its fast-paced, commercial rhythm can be seen in businesses that are increasingly concerned about customer service and customer satisfaction. This itinerary will be a guided introduction to shopping Seville´s typical products, like the ceramics in Triana, hand-crafted guitars, shawls, embroidery, lace, fans, flamenco dresses and accessories.
